We Survived!
I noticed today that our blog has been over-run with Grandma & Grandpa's house stuff so I will now regale you with our tales of vacationing.

Sunday we went to church. It is so odd that you can see the chapel from their house, and her whole ward is six blocks by two blocks of her neighborhood.
Tuesday we went to the fire station and went bowling. The kids had a blast at both. Unfortunately no one had a camera for bowling.

As is evidenced by Ryan we started out the day happy and full of energy. But by the end of the day we............well you get the idea.
We survived our vacation! And we even managed to have a lot of fun. The only downside is that I still have not gotten my energy back.
We left at 1:30 in the morning on Friday and managed to get to Elizabeth & Jared's at 6:30pm our time. It took us 17 hours to drive there! We stopped for half an hour in Boise at my friend Amber's house. Our kids spent a lot of time together in Monmouth when we lived there and hadn't seen each other in a long time. They had a great visit. Then we got back in the car and kept going before I could glue myself to Amber's couch. The kids did great on the drive there. No fights, or crying, and very little whining. However, every time we got to a town they would ask if that was Libby's town, and when I would say no they would say "When are we going to Libby's town?". They just could not understand that it takes that much going to get there.
Saturday there was an Easter egg hunt to enjoy.

Monday we went to the duck pond, the dinosaur museum
and the life science museum in provo.

The kids were actually afraid of the skeletons of the dinosaurs. It was kind of funny.

On Wednesday we rode Trax into Salt Lake and went to the I am a Child of God exhibit at the church history museum. It was a lot of fun and the kids loved it all.

Then on Thursday we loaded up the van and began the long horrible trip home. We stopped somewhere so Adelyn could get her ears pierced. That was fun :( Then we drove to Rexburg to see Samantha, Dustin & Levi, and Deanna. Unfortunately we couldn't find our camera so we couldn't get a picture of the boys at the Rexburg Temple. But it was very pretty. And we had a nice visit there. We did however forget our toothbrushes at the motel. (The only casualty of our vacation, which I think is pretty good for 6 people on vacation for 7 days)
On Friday morning we left Rexburg headed for home. We left there at 8 am our time and got home at 1:30am on Saturday. It took us 15.5 hours to get home and the map program says it should only take 10 hours. Pretty bad huh? We were so happy to get home. But now that we have been home nearly a week I can fondly recount our first family vacation. David and I have been married 7 years and this was the first time in our marriage we have ever driven anywhere further away than the beach! It was a lot of fun but David says we aren't driving that far again for a couple of years.
So I guess he'll be more than happy to pay for me to fly out to see Elizabeth (and family) next time. Hmmm......... ;)
